1. Almighty One
Revelation 1: 4-8 (amp),
Message to the Seven Churches
4.John, to the seven churches that are in [the province of] Asia: Grace [be granted] to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being], from Him Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, and from the seven Spirits that are before His throne, 5.and from Jesus Christ, the faithful and trust worthy Witness, the Firstborn of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who [always] loves us and who [has once for all] freed us [or washed us] from our sins by His own blood (His sacrificial death)— 6.and formed us into a kingdom [as His subjects], priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7.BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes (nations) of the earth will mourn over Him [realizing their sin and guilt, and anticipating the coming wrath]. So it is to be. Amen. 8.“I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End],” says the Lord God, “Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all].”
(Additional Verses: Gen.17:1; Job 6:4; Job 29:5; Ps.68:14; Ps.91:1; Ez.1:24; Joel 1:15; Rev.4:8; Rev.11:17; Rev.15:3; Rev.16:7; Rev.16:14; Rev.19:15; Rev.21:22)

(Additional Verses: Rev.1:4-8; Rev.21:6; Rev.22:13)

3. Advocate
1 John 2:12 (amp), 12.My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action].
(Additional Verses: John 14:16; 1Tim. 2:5; Heb. 9:15,24; 1 John 2:1-2)

4. Author and Perfecter of Our Faith
Hebrews 12:1-3 (amp), 1.Jesus, the Example
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us,
2.[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work]. 3.Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
5. Authority
Matt. 28:17-20 (amp), 17.And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted [that it was really He]. 18.Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19.Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20.teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
(Additional Verses: Psalm 8:6, Matthew 11:27, Matthew 16:15-20, Matthew 26:64, John 3:31-35, John 17:2; John 19:11, Ephesians 1:18-21, Philippians 2:9-11, Colossians 2:9-13, 1 Corinthians 15:23-27, 1 Peter 3:21-22)

6. Bread of Life
John 6:35 (amp), 35Jesus replied to them, “I am the Bread of Life. The one who comes to Me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in Me [as Savior] will never be thirsty [for that one will be sustained spiritually].”
(Additional Verses: Deuteronomy 16:3, Proverbs 6:26, Ezekiel 4:16, Ezekiel 13:19, Amos 7:12, John 6:33-35, John 6:48-51)

(Additional Verses: Matthew 12:18, Matthew 17:5, Mark 1:11, Mark 9:7, Galatians 2:16, Ephesians 1:6, Colossians 1:13, 2 Peter 1:17)

8. Bridegroom
Matthew 25:1-13 (amp), 1.Parable of Ten Virgins
1“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2.Five of them were foolish [thoughtless, silly, and careless], and five were wise [far-sighted, practical, and sensible]. 3.For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them, 4.but the wise took flasks of oil along with their lamps. 5.Now while the bridegroom was delayed, they all began to nod off, and they fell asleep. 6.But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! The bridegroom [is coming]! Go out to meet him.’ 7.Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order [trimmed the wicks and added oil and lit them]. 8.But the foolish virgins said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’ 9.But the wise replied, ‘No, otherwise there will not be enough for us and for you, too; go instead to the dealers and buy oil for yourselves.’ 10.But while they were going away to buy oil, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut and locked. 11.Later the others also came, and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open [the door] for us.’ 12.But He replied, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I do not know you [we have no relationship].’ 13.Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come].
(Additional Verses: Psalm 19:4-5, Isaiah 61:10, Isaiah 62:5, Jeremiah 7:34, Jeremiah 16:9, Jeremiah 25:10, Jeremiah 33:11, Joel 2:16, Matthew 9:14-15, Matthew 25:1-6, Mark 2:18-20, Luke 5:33-35, John 2:7-10, John 3:29, Revelation 18:23, Revelation 21:2)

9. [Chief] Cornerstone
Ephesians 2:17-22 (amp), 17.AND HE CAME AND PREACHED THE GOOD NEWS OF PEACE TO YOU [Gentiles] WHO WERE FAR AWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE [Jews] WHO WERE NEAR. 18.For it is through Him that we both have a [direct] way of approach in one Spirit to the Father. 19.So then you are no longer strangers and aliens [outsiders without rights of citizenship], but you are fellow citizens with the saints (God’s people), and are [members] of God’s household, 20.having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the [chief] Cornerstone, 21.in whom the whole structure is joined together, and it continues [to increase] growing into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, set apart, and sacred to the presence of the Lord]. 22.In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
(Additional Verses: Job 38:4-6, Ps. 118:22-23, Isaiah 8:14, Isaiah 28:16, Jeremiah 51:26, Zechariah 4:7, Zechariah 10:4, Matthew 21:42, Mark 12:10, Luke 20:17-18, Acts 4:10-12, Romans 9:33, Ephesians 2:19-22, 1 Corinthians 3:11, Galatians 2:9, 1 Peter 2:1-8)

10. Christ
Ephesians 4:1-15 (amp), Unity of the Spirit
1.So I, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to you to live a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called [that is, to live a life that exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behavior—a life that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation], 2.with all humility [forsaking self-righteousness], and gentleness [maintaining self-control], with patience, bearing with one another in [unselfish] love. 3.Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful]. 4.There is one body [of believers] and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when called [to salvation]— 5.one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6.one God and Father of us all who is [sovereign] overall and [working] through all and [living] in all. 7.Yet grace [God’s undeserved favor] was given to each one of us [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and abundant] gift. 8.Therefore it says,
“WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE, AND HE BESTOWED GIFTS ON MEN.”
9.(Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had previously descended [from the heights of heaven] into the lower parts of the earth? 10.He who descended is the very same as He who also has ascended high above all the heavens, that He [His presence] might fill all things [that is, the whole universe]). 11.And [His gifts to the church were varied and] He Himself appointed some as apostles [special messengers, representatives], some as prophets [who speak a new message from God to the people], some as evangelists [who spread the good news of salvation], and some as pastors and teachers [to shepherd and guide and instruct], 12.[and He did this] to fully equip and perfect the saints (God’s people) for works of service, to build up the body of Christ [the church]; 13.until we all reach oneness in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, [growing spiritually] to become a mature believer, reaching to the measure of the fullness of Christ [manifesting His spiritual completeness and exercising our spiritual gifts in unity]. 14.So that we are no longer children [spiritually immature], tossed back and forth [like ships on a stormy sea] and carried about by every wind of [shifting] doctrine, by the cunning and trickery of [unscrupulous] men, by the deceitful scheming of people ready to do anything [for personal profit]. 15.But speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ.
(Additional Verses: (Note: these are verses 1-25 of 722 verses:) Ruth 4:17,22; Psalm 2:2; Ezekiel 43:19; Matthew 1:16,18; Matthew 2:4; Matthew 5:14; Matthew 11:2; Matthew 16:13,16,18,20; Matthew 22:42; Matthew 23:10; Matthew 24:1,5,23,24; Matthew 26:63,68; Matthew 27:17,22; Mark 1:1; Mark 8:27)

11. Deliverer
2 Samuel 22:2-3 (esv), 2.He said, “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, 3.my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence.
(Additional Verses: 1 Thess.1:10, Psalm 34:17, Psalm 107:6, Romans 11:26)

12. Faithful and True
1 John 1:9 (amp), 9.If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].
(Additional Verses: Jeremiah 42:5, Daniel 4:37, 1 Corinthians 1:9, 2 Corinthians 1:19, 2 Timothy 2:13, 1 Peter 5:12, Revelation 3:14, Revelation 19:11, Revelation 21:5, Revelation 22:6

13. Good Shepherd
John 10:11-18 (amp), 11.I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His [own] life for the sheep. 12.But the hired man [who merely serves for wages], who is neither the shepherd nor the owner of the sheep, when he sees the wolf coming, deserts the flock and runs away; and the wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them. 13.The man runs because he is a hired hand [who serves only for wages] and is not concerned about the [safety of the] sheep. 14.I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me]— 15.even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father—and I lay down My [very own] life [sacrificing it] for the benefit of the sheep. 16.I have other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold. I must bring those also, and they will listen to My voice and pay attention to My call, and they will become one flock with one Shepherd. 17.For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My [own] life so that I may take it back. 18.No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I am authorized and have power to lay it down and to give it up, and I am authorized and have power to take it back. This command I have received from My Father.”
(Additional Verses: Psalm 78:52, John 10:1, 11, 14; Ephesians 4:11)

14. Great High Priest
Hebrews 4:14-16 (amp), 14.Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior]. 15.For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. 16.Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].
(Additional Verses: Hebrews 9:11)

15. Head of the Church The Incomparable Christ
Colossians 1:13-23 (amp), 13.For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14.in whom we have redemption [because of His sacrifice, resulting in] the forgiveness of our sins [and the cancellation of sins’ penalty]. 15.He is the exact living image [the essential manifestation] of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible], the firstborn [the preeminent one, the sovereign, and the originator] of all creation. 16.For by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him. 17.And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.] 18.He is also the head [the life-source and leader] of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will occupy the first place [He will stand supreme and be preeminent] in everything. 19.For it pleased the Father for all the fullness [of deity—the sum total of His essence, all His perfection, powers, and attributes] to dwell [permanently] in Him (the Son), 20.and through [the intervention of] the Son to reconcile all things to Himself, making peace [with believers] through the blood of His cross; through Him, [I say,] whether things on earth or things in heaven. 21.And although you were at one time estranged and alienated and hostile-minded [toward Him], participating in evil things, 22.yet Christ has now reconciled you [to God] in His physical body through death, in order to present you before the Father holy and blameless and beyond reproach— 23.[and He will do this] if you continue in the faith, well-grounded and steadfast, and not shifting away from the [confident] hope [that is a result] of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which [gospel] I, Paul, was made a minister.
(Additional Verses: Ephesians 5:23-24, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians)

16. Holy Servant
Acts 4:27-31 (amp), 27.For in this city there were gathered together against Your Holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28.to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined [before the creation of the world] to occur [and so without knowing it, they served Your own purpose]. 29.And now, Lord, observe their threats [take them into account] and grant that Your bond-servants may declare Your message [of salvation] with great confidence, 30.while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders (attesting miracles) take place through the name [and the authority and power] of Your Holy Servant and Son Jesus.” 31.And when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken [a sign of God’s presence]; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage.
17. I Am
John 8:54-59 (amp), 54.Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is [worth] nothing. It is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ 55.Yet you do not know Him, but I know Him fully. If I said I did not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know Him and keep His word. 56.Your father Abraham [greatly] rejoiced to see My day (My incarnation). He saw it and was delighted.” 57.Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not even fifty years old, and You [claim to] have seen Abraham?” 58.Jesus replied, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, before Abraham was born, I Am.” 59.So they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus concealed Himself and left the temple.
(Additional Verses: Exodus 3:10-20)

18. Immanuel
Matthew 1:20-25 (amp), 20.But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21.She will give birth to a Son, and you shall name Him Jesus (The LORD is salvation), for He will save His people from their sins.” 22.All this happened in order to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet [Isaiah]: 23.“BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND GIVE BIRTH TO A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL”—which, when translated, means, “GOD WITH US.” 24.Then Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and he took Mary [to his home] as his wife, 25.but he kept her a virgin until she had given birth to a Son [her firstborn child]; and he named Him Jesus (The LORD is salvation).
(Additional Verses: (Note: This is a sample of the 292 verses containing the word “Judge”) Isaiah 7:10, 14; Isaiah 8:8, 10)

19. Judge
Acts 10:40-45 (amp), 40.God raised Him [to life] on the third day and caused Him to be plainly seen, 41.not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen and designated beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank together with Him after He rose from the dead. 42.He commanded us to preach to the people [both Jew and Gentile], and to solemnly testify that He is the One who has been appointed and ordained by God as Judge of the living and the dead. 43.All the prophets testify about Him, that through His name everyone who believes in Him [whoever trusts in and relies on Him, accepting Him as Savior and Messiah] receives forgiveness of sins.” 44.While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who were listening to the message [confirming God’s acceptance of Gentiles]. 45.All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.

Explanation
13.Then He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand and grasp the meaning of all the parables? 14.The sower sows the word [of God, the good news regarding the way of salvation]. 15.These [in the first group] are the ones along the road where the word is sown; but when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them. 16.In a similar way these [in the second group] are the ones on whom seed was sown on rocky ground, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy [but accept it only superficially]; 17.and they have no real root in themselves, so they endure only for a little while; then, when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately they [are offended and displeased at being associated with Me and] stumble and fall away. 18. And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word, 19.but the worries and cares of the world [the distractions of this age with its worldly pleasures], and the deceitfulness [and the false security or glamour] of wealth [or fame], and the passionate desires for all the other things creep in and choke out the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20.And those[in the last group] are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word [of God, the good news regarding the way of salvation] and accept it and bear fruit—thirty, sixty, and a hundred times as much [as was sown].” 21.He said to them, “A lamp is not brought in to be put under a basket or under a bed, is it? Is it not [brought in] to be put on the lampstand? 22.For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been kept secret, but that it would come to light [that is, things are hidden only temporarily, until the appropriate time comes for them to be known]. 23.If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear and heed My words.” 24.Then He said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond]—and more will be given to you besides. 25.For whoever has [a teachable heart], to him more[understanding] will be given; and whoever does not have [a yearning for truth], even what he has will be taken away from him.”
